I truly do not understand why Bass Fishing is the only sport in the world where you can be a self proclaimed PROFESSIONAL FISHERMAN!! I look at any other sport and if your not in the NHL your not a professional hockey player, your not in the MLB your not a professional baseball player. But any Yahoo that purchaes a Jerseys and pays for it and adds companies names on it for the pure enjoyment of looking like KVD and G-Man, can call himself a pro angler because he fishes some local tourneys!! Please enlighten me to why our sport has to deal with these YAHOO's!!!! I know that I am going to piss people off with this comment but you wonder why people can not find true sponsors in the industry anymore, its because everyone will do it for FREE!!!!!!!

Being a professional in a chosen field is when it is your primary occupation. There are tons of weekend warriors that dress the part. It doesn't bother me though.

Well it had been a few days since we had a jersey post I guess.....
Anyway, I truly do not care what one chooses to call themselves or how they dress. Doesn't affect me in any way so why stress out about it.

If your primary source of income is fishing, then you are a professional angler. I never have understood why people care so much about a guy wearing a jersey. A big part of fishing is mental. If a jersey helps a guy get in the zone, more power to him.
The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

You're real confused man. So minor league athletes, hockey and baseball players, aren't professional athletes? There are guys in AAA ball that have multi-million dollar contracts. I think that would qualify as professional. It's not like the guys are selling cars or working at 7-11 on the side. And by definition, anything you do to make money, as in a job, you do professionally.

U won't catch me wearing a jeresy unless a company has bought it and ask me to wear it. While there paying me or sending me free fishing stuff. But ur right yahoo's wearing jeresy's is hilarious.

You would be surprised how many people out on the water want to buy our razorback jerseys in Arkansas . . .There was such a demand, that we are having replicas made to sell for tournament funds . .
