My first spring season fishing corpus and its been a blast. There is a big difference between how i fish Baffin and how I fish these clear corpus waters. The drum run was a pain in the [censored] to figure out at first striking out my first 8 attempts. Slowly i figured it out and managed to pull a few from up and down the Inter coastal from 36" - 44".

I also managed to get out and fish with luke who was cool enough to show me around some new areas...he did most of the catching while i got to chase sheephead with the bow...

One new thing ive learned from these waters is picking up flounder. With the water as clear as it is i can crab walk the shorelines and some shallow sections of the icw with a spot light and look for these flat suckers on the ground. Im trying to pick them up for KW points for gigging them really isnt a option although my buddy robert has been having his share of fun with it picking up limits.
We usually come across 10-15 a night giving me plenty of shots to jig one up with a Fish-a-holics twitch bait and some flounder pounder scent...

One thing ive noticed is while im fan casting over where i just found a flounder i will often snag a trout....ive caught quite a few these past few nights from 18-19.5"

Over all its been a little slow but consistent and with temps warming up it can only get better....
Till Next time
