I hope this isn't asking too much, but I have a favor to ask. I know there are a lot of great people here, so I figure this is worth a shot.

My wife is a hospice nurse, and has a 92 year old patient that loves to bass fish. Because of his medical problems, and "father time," he hasn't been able to fish in years, but he wants to give it a go one more time. My wife has asked me to take him fishing, which I am happy to do, but I don't have a boat right now, and I don't think taking a 92 year old man bank fishing is the right move.

So, I come to you guys, asking if any of you would be willing to take this man fishing one day. I will handle getting him to you at the ramp, and I can either go with you as well, or just pick him up when the day is over. My wife says he can walk, but I imagine he will need something a little more comfortable than a john boat. We don't need a guide necessarily, but just somebody that can get him on the water for a few hours one day.

This would need to be somebody close to Dallas. He stays at a hospice "resort" home in North Dallas, so Lake Lewisville, maybe Grapevine, Joe Pool or maybe Hubbard, would be best. Something close. I'm thinking a week day would be ideal, but as I understand it, he can go whenever.

My wife says for somebody on hospice, he is in great health. He does have to stay on oxygen, but its a small tank, smaller than a fire extinguisher. She thinks he will be on hospice for a long time, so don't get the wrong impression.

I know this is a lot to ask, and don't expect the line to form to the left, but if any of you boys have the time, and are willing, there would be several people, extremely grateful.

Thanks for reading, and any consideration.

Ryan, I would be happy to help you out with this request. I have a boat we can all 3 go fish in if he is wanting to try for largemouth bass or if he would like to o for sand bass or hybrids, would be happy to make the arrangements for that as well. Find out what kind of fishing he wants to go for and let me know.

Regards,
Steve

Glad to see someone willing to take this request. I have done this for several elderly friends and it was some of the most rewarding experiences I have had on the water. Gives ya a nice warm fuzzy feeling inside to know you have brought so much joy into someones day.

Steve, that is greatly appreciated. I'm lucky enough to be able to go to opening day tomorrow, and then my kids have baseball tournaments all day Saturday. I will call you Monday and we can see if we can make something work.

Many thanks!
