I moved down to Arlington from CO a while ago, and I am looking to find some crappie on Joe Pool this weekend. I know how tight lipped these places can be (I know I was on the CO forums), but I am just looking for a place to start.

I've done some crappie fishing back home, but I spent way more time chasing walleye and trout. So any help would be appreciated. Not looking for any honey holes, just any general help with depth/bait/or even which arm of the lake to start.

Also, if someone wants to tag along sometime let me know. I just have an old 14ft aluminum, but it gets me on the water.

I grew up in Arlington fishing JP. I have no boat and live in Granbury, about 45 min away, but I will go with ya as long as we dont have to paddle. LOL.. Theres also a place out by me that has walleye if ya wanna show me how to catch those.

Thy will be done

Thanks for the tips everyone.

If I don't get blown off the water this weekend I'll let you know how it goes.

Loyd Park is closest to Walnut Creek

There is a perfect place for you to launch a small faltbottom here:

http://www.bing.com/maps/default.aspx?q=joe+pool+lake&mkt=en&FORM=HDRSC4

Looks at the satellite view and U will see exactly where I am talking about.

Entering Loyd Park, take a right and follow it down a ways. Just after a sharp 90 degree turn to the left, you will see this dirt road to your left. Launch there and you are very close to where Walnut Creek dumps into the lake.

$10 a day or $125 for an annual pass.
