Red dot has speckled trout, sand trout, red fish and BIG'OL black drum. My wife caught this one at Red dot Pier:

if you dont mind driving a few miles to corpus packery channel jettys and bob hall pier are both good that time of year. you can also catch some kings and spanish mackeral.take the grand kids out to the T head there is always a bunch of guys out there shark fishing the kids will get a kick out of the big reels and baits these guys use and they might get to see them catch a big shark.

yea I've been by there a few years ago when we were there. but we are going to port Aransas for 3 days over the 4th so was looking for somewhere near there. going on a charter boat one day, but littlest grandson can't go, so I thought we should take him somewhere for a day or a few hours to keep him satisfied.
