Hey guys, I'm planning on making my first trip to lake fork this weekend and ill be bringing the yak along with me! Is the fishing pretty good right now out there? And also I need a few good spots I could try out.

The spawn is on right now. Pick a lure you like to throw and have fun.

And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

Any suggestions on what area of the lake to go to?

That lake will drive you nuts if you don't know where your going before you get there, and then again once you're on the water. I've been fishing Pinson and Little Mustang because of launch availabilty nearby and wind protection but will probably try something new next time. Pinson has a launch site where the road crosses it that is perfect for kayaks and good fishing from the start.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

If you're gonna be there on Saturday I'd definitely pick a cove on the south shore...Being on the north side of a big texas impoundment with a strong south wind is challenging to say the least in a yak... Pinson's a good choice.... The ramp at Chaney rv park can be good.... Lots of shallow stumpy stuff right there at the ramp... Also like lconn said: going way back into mustang might be a good idea too...

We just got back from a couple of days. We smoked em in Little Caney. Most fish came on a green pumpkin centipede split shot rig. We did catch a few on Texas rig lizards. The key is SLOWWWW.....anywhere between 6 inches to 8 feet is where our fish came from. We launched at Hideaway Harbor. There is plenty of water to get out of the south wind. HOWEVER...I think the Ram tournament is this weekend....be careful.
