i had sunday off (usually work weekends) and my son (13) wanted to go fishing. we loaded the truck and headed to sylvan beach pier. we bought a pound of dead shrimp. we went half way out on the pier. we peeled the shrimp and cut them lenghtwise into two pieces because they were kind of big. every cast we either got a fish or a big bite. whiting and croaker. we lost count how many we had caught and when we got back to the house we counted that we had gotten 43 from 9 to 12 inch. the people next to us caught a nice slot red. i cleaned and fried them up to go with the red beans and rice Mama had made.
i know it is not big game fishing but it was a nice day and memories for the boy and i and a great way to keep a young fisherchild interested.
