The spawn is on at most Texas lakes and that means weightless soft plastics on the flats. When they first move up, bass will swim 3' to smash anything floating down near them. Head to Glade Creek on Fork, Veach Basin on Rayburn, or any good spot on your favorite lake and odds are the 10 boats in front of you are all throwing weightless soft plastic jerkbaits like Flukes and Senkos. If that's not working, throw the bass a curveball. In the past couple of years, crossbreed lures that take the best parts of soft plastic jerks and swimbaits have really proliferated, especially with the advent of the Alabama rig. These jerkbait/swimbait hybrids give pressured bass a new look and work very well. Check out my April article to read how I've been using them. http://lakeforkguidetrips.com/fishingarticles/april2013.htm
