Hello. I'm new to this. So I was wondering does anybody have a address so I can mapquest it? I live in Lockhart. It's about 30 miles from Austin. I just need to find out how to get to the steps. I would greatly appreciate anyone's help. Thank you.

Small and white colored lures do well there. ie 1/16 oz sized roadrunners, rooster tails, flies, etc. store bought minnows work OK, but seined river minnows work better.

Good luck. Let us know how you do.

I've been to the steps three times now and caught six every time. I did catch my personal best for this area yesterday. It was well over 15in. Other than that, it's been very slow down there. Since this is the only place to go to I'll be back.

Yup, if you want to catch White Bass in Cen Tex you're really limited right now. Thanks for the report.

My opinion... the "run" (if there was one this year...) is over. Been twice in the past week with very limited success.

Yep.. unless it rains and rains BIG soon the fat lady is making her way to the stage.. Shift your efforts back to the main lake if you want to fill the freezer...

I was thinking that might be the case. I was hoping to hear a different story. The hot/cold weather changes had me thinking the spawn would be short this year.

Thanks for the update.

Going to try my luck down there today...
Not sure how muddy the water is going to be, or the conditions after all the rain earlier this week...
But only 1 way to find out,and that's just to by go down there and see...Post report when I get back...

Good luck. I hope the recent rains pulled the trigger on this spawn.
