We have plans to fish on Fork Sunday and Monday. When we made our reservations at LFMM, I smooth didn't take into account the Ram Mega Bass on Sunday. So,could somebody please tell me where the easiest access on Lake Monticelllo is, say from Mt.Pleasant. We'll be traveling I30 from Central AR. We would like to fish Monticello the front half of the day, let the tourney get finished at Fork, then ease over to Fork for maybe a few hours of late evening fishing. Thanks in advance!

Might as well fish the tourney. Richest payout for a 1 day tourney. There are lots of us planning on getting lucky..
If going to Monticello just take a right on 17 coming out of LFM. At the stop sign (dead end) take another right on 515 take that thru Winnsboro to Hwy 11 take a right there as well and go to Hwy 21 take a left on 21 go a few miles to FM 127 (road splits stay to the right) go a couple miles and watch for the signs. I can't remember the county road number the ramp is on but it isn't far from the split. If you go over Monticello once on 127 turn around you passed the ramp road LOL. Hope this helps and if I got it wrong someone please correct.

Thanks a bunch! My luck with big bass tournaments goes like this. During the tournament, catch no fish, catch some fish, don't catch a weigher. The hour after the tournament is over, the next day, whenever, on the water I fished during the tournament, catch one that would have won an hourly prize. We' re gonna fish for fun this trip.

LOL famaliar with that routine.. Good luck. I can tell ya that Fork is usually really tough right after one of these big bass tourneys. I hope ya do well on Monticello, might want to give Bob Sandlin a try if Monticello doesn't produce early. Where 21 crosses sandlin there is a public ramp to the left across the bridge. It is a little shallow at the ramp but go under 21 in the boat and the first couple coves on the left are holding some fish.

Oh yeah watch those stumps on Monticello some of the hardest I have ever had the pleasure to fish.. But I would go down by the dam and work the points and reeds along the banks. The bridge will be holding some fish also. Might want to downsize a little at the bridge and work shakey heads with finesse worms.. Cranks should work as well.

Fish the bridge cut through, the cove on the left, the dam (use a DD22 and I guarantee you'll catch a Hawg). Don't forget the discharge area but be sure and have your life jacket on there cus it's dangerous in that current if it's on.

+1 on the Dropshot/shaky head the car bridge. Fish the RR bridge and Smith Creek. There was some good grass in the creek channel in Feb. Not sure if there's any flow from the discharge, but if so, fish a heavy dropshot near any structure you can reach from the buoys. Just my .02. Good luck!
