My Mama told me to never talk to strangers ... or maybe I'm the stranger your Mama told you about? LOL

Seriously, it seems that hardly a trip goes by where I don't spend considerable time talking to people about my kayak, kayak fishing in general, or how best to get started in kayak fishing. Its funny, its no one group that I will typically talk to either, Its just as often, bankers, pb'rs, or guys on bass busters (ok, not those guys as often, simply because there aren't typically as many of those around).

And also, its amazing how many other kayaker's I talk to and give and exchange information. I was talking about this with a fellow TFF'r just the other day. We tend to assume that all yak angler's are on TFF, either actively or behind the scenes. But its amazing how many are not, and just got into yak angling because they saw someone on the water one time and have had little to no "experienced advice" on starting their adventure.

I have learned to plan my take out time around talking yaks and fishing at the ramp at days end.

Motor boats are for sissys. Kayak fishing is the best sport ever!!!

I love talking kayaking to anyone! Anytime I run into a yaker I tell them about tff! Also I love going to academy and informing people about academy's products more then the employees do haha

Ha, I was driving here in Wichita the other day and saw a trailer loaded down with a few Jackson kayaks, had to turn around and meet the guys.

With my wooden yaks I get the opportunity to talk to a lot of people while launching, paddling, loading, getting gas or stopping to eat.

Some people may get a little irritated at me while loading at a public ramp because I'm a little slow getting around. But they see that I got this little hitch in my get-a-long so they are tolerant or sometimes even help which leads to more conversation.

Of course being a preacher I often end up talking about my favorite Guy, Jesus, as well as yakking. Hope that I have been successful in introducing someone to this wonderful sport. You absolutely can't find a better group of people to associate with.

I've had people come up to me to ask about the kayak in the bed of my truck, but when I've had my trailer with 4 or 5 kayaks on it, they stay away. Probably don't want to disturb the fanatic...
