Whatever method chosen, be sure and check the water level in the batteries frequently.

I have one from BPS and it's several years old. I leave it on all the time. I got 6 years out of my last set of AC/Delco batteries.

I leave mine on 24/7, but I check the water every week. I only use distilled to replenish them . In the summer your water level will drop quickly.

You should be able to find the user manual online. If you know the make and model, just type it into any search engine, and you should be able to find a link that will give you the best answer.

If that doesn't work, you can always contact the manufacturer and request a manual be sent to you.

I have a dual pro and I disconnect when lights turn green and nite before trip I plug back in. Have cooked batteries before leaving on all the time and it was a dual pro that did it. Maybe newer ones are better

Buy a quality charger and read the directions. If it has a trickle option on it then there is no harm in leaving it on. It wont calcify as fast that way.
