Vacation starts next week and I am finally going to be trying out my new HB units. I have a 898 c HD side scan at trolling motor and The bigger 998c HD Side scan at console. Until its time to start chasing hybrids in deeper water and crappies at bridge pilons later as summer cranks up, most of my fish will be shallower water for spawn and post spawn crappie and bass. Until I learn all the ins and outs of how these new fishfinders work, are there any basic settings that i should set them up to show the best results?

The factory settings will get you started good then just play with them on side scan match your boat and chart speeds for best images.
