Great thread. I have been a Maui Jim man for years, but just have trouble dropping that much money on them anymore. I tried a pair of red ridge from Walmart. Not bad, but I'm interested in the strike kings...they sound great for $40.

I don't know about mid price but I love my Revo's, fit for life. Metal frames, so comfortable I never know they are there!

Don't skimp on your eyes. You can easily find a pair of high end glasses used on here or on EBay well within your budget.

Thanks for all the input. The Solar Bat Nocs and the SK S11's look like what I'm looking for.

I had a pair of Costa Fluids for five years. I dropped them in the lake in February, but was able to snatch them out before they sank. I set them on the deck to dry. I then miraculously caught a fish, which distracted me to the point that I stepped on my glasses and broke the frame. It's a discontinued style. Haven't followed up with Costa yet, but I figure that they either don't have any frames left or will charge me arms and legs for a new frame. This is already my second frame over the five years, and I had to pay for the second one.

I just bought some Smith Optics for ADS sports eye wear and they are awsome, I don't ever plan on going back to Oakley again. The smiths run 110. The reflective, blue polarized lenses only have 8% light transmission so they are really good if you have sensitive eyes. http://www.smithoptics.com/ - good luck.

Take a look at Bolle' polarized glasses. I have an old pair that I let my guests use and they are always impressed. They were $29.99 at Academy. I used them myself before going throught the entire spectrum of other glasses like Oakley, Ray Ban, WileyX, and now finaly my Costas.

I should sell some so I can find more useless stuff to buy. Lol....
