Went out yesterday from sun up to sun down, not a stinking bite.

Drifted 25 FOW, anchored shallow timber, shallow creek, and wind blown points. Moving every 30-45 minutes, nothing.

Think I am about to give up on the Vine. Been fishing that lake exclusively for about a year now and have had one good trip (with Thunderhank), and two trips where I caught more than one fish...

Sorry, rant over.

Well I sure thought I was using small enough bait.

Heads and chunks of 2-3" perch too big?

Check coves that have big creek arms weather flowing or not! Doesn't have to be a big cove either. The good ones will have very long points and sudden changes in depth say from 20 to 5 fow ...

Small filets and small chunks this time of year. Use about a 1 inch cut

Bite was light yesterday.

Don't be afraid to fish 30' + deep at the Vine. It seems that there are some fish deep most of the year.

No, caught a little bit of shad. Took perch just in case.

The thunderstorm had the fish all out of sorts. Sometimes they'll bite anything after a storm and other times they won't touch an easy meal.

And yes small baits help tremendously. But you will get a few that just will try it anyway. My last outing a little maybe 1 # tried to fit my 7 ot and a shad head in he did lol!

produces pretty good.
