There is absolutely nothing extraordinary about this report, but I figured I would share our experience from this week. A friend and I spent the last 2 1/2 days at Fork (unguided). This was our first trip back to the lake since 2011, and we had somewhat of a rough time.....but all things considered, we still had fun. We boated 10 fish in 2 1/2 days....with the biggest being just under 6 lbs.

I will be honest, the weather just plain SUCKED and was very cold on Wednesday morning. The cold front really seemed to shut down the fish....and we only briefly found a pocket of water that was 60 degrees. Everything else was in the 55-58 degree range. This morning was the nicest weather of our trip, but we had to head out at 11:00 unfortunately. I envy the folks who will be fishing out there over the weekend.

It was great to visit the lake again....and we plan to go back next month when it's a little warmer. I hope to be able to post pictures of a DD or two next time. wink Here are a few pics....I hope you guys enjoy them.

33 degrees on Wednesday morning (too damn cold to be fishing)

My buddy Russell with his almost 6 pounder...

Nice chunky fish I caught yesterday...

I thought this was really interesting. These were the remnants of a long-dead turtle inside the top of a stump (also notice the spider web).

Beautiful sunset...can't wait to get back!!

Nice pics!

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

That chunky fish may be a 3 pounder, but he's got 10 lb eyeballs.

Power line up in Elm, looks like to me. Great pictures, next month fishing should be good, not that it is bad right now.

Thanks for sharing- you made the best out of some awfully tough conditions- - good job all and all-
the operative words, "we still had fun"
Now that is really what it is all about.

Henry David Thoreau said that "Some men fish all their lives without knowing it is really not the fish they are after."
I think that I am approaching this stage, that is to have
the opportunity and joy to go fishing and enjoy God's magnificent creation.
