Bass are taking over the crappie holes! I caught two big girls. I'm guessing they went 5lbs each, plus a couple of males. Only 3 crappie caught. It was nice just to get out today. I haven't fished since Christmas.

 bass seem tobget in the way some times none the less nice fish

They were fun. Both females were 20" fish.

Pretty nice size trashes. Fun fight I bet. Glad you got a chance to get out Brandon. Congrats...
(not trying to hijack your post Brandon) Just on the other note, there was a thread regarding sickle hooks issues posted in here a few days ago, please view the photos Brandon posted above. Those were caught SLABmesilly Standard Jig (yellow chartreuse and purple 1/16oz; black nickel sickle hooks by Matzuo size #4). As bad as some bad batch has broken at the bend for some of us, the black nickel sickle hooks are SHARP & STRONG. Most gold or bronze hooks often bend out by these nice size trashy fish... Thus, I have been recommending and still favor the black nickel sickle hooks are good as I can get (until something else comes along that will prove to be better) for crappie fishing!

Thanks everyone. It was nice to get on the water. You're also right CV. Those nickel sickles didn't bend. I caught 4 bass and 3 crappie on that jig today. I was more worried about breaking the 8lb line.

i like them mismarks on the fins on the second fish ....
i thinks its pretty kewl ....
