Has anyone else noticed a weird chemical smell coming from Pecan Creek? I know there is a waste water treatment plant that dumps into Pecan Creek. I don't think the Crappie like it much.

Now I smell it on the West end of the Toll Bridge as well. I wonder if that could be a reason for the lack of Crappie on the Toll Bridge?

I've smelled some pretty funky smells on the west end of the toll bridge, but I don't remember it smelling like chemicals.

Smell might be from the sewer treatment plant at the west end of the bridge. It dumps water into the lake..

dont know why they go to the lake but they caught somne " chefs" around belton a while back. maybe its so if the brew explodes, they can just dive in the lake to stop the chemical burns.

well if that is what it is don't fish around it because it is poison big time if you breath it. They can cook that stuff anywhere now with the one pot method.

Usually to avoid the law....and to hide the smell (as much as possible).

I was in pecan creek on Tuesday. The water coming out of the creek was clear compared to the lake and had a brown color but I did not notice any smell.

Regardless of the cause, it sounds like some nasty water.
