Before I drop 500 on rain gear does anybody have experience with this product? Fits well and looks nice. After getting soaked last wknd I told myself I would purchase some better gear.

I have a set and they are awesome, Barrett. 20 years old and still going strong. I also have a set of Simms I really like but they're $$$. They were a gift.

Barrett I have a set and I LOVE them. I bought the Jacket on clearance for $100 and the bibs in the bargain cave on closeout for $109. They don't match perfect cause they are seperate colors but I don't mind looking a little goofy to save $300 or more. smile You won't regret it, it's a great investment!

That's what I use and I've never got wet. Mine are about 6-7 years old and never had a problem.

I've got the guidewear set. Love them.

I got mine in aug/sept couple years ago when they clearanced them for the season. They were down to $125 a piece I think.

Go with the parka not the jacket. I have uninsulated and have never had a problem.

I went with the jacket instead of the parka. I don't like the extra length of the parka, but you can't go wrong with either.

I've been wondering about the new suit. I have two old sets. I am wondering if the new suit is made of a lighter material similar to the Simms rain suits. The two sets I have are the greatest rain suits I've ever owned but they are heavy and a little much in the Texas summer. They are both un insulated.

They also have a new gore-tex suit- called Tidal Guidewear I think - that is just a gore-tex shell and uninsulated and will be great for the warmer months - when you just need to stay dry - not warm and dry - I have tried on that jacket and it will be a future addition to the rain gear - http://www.cabelas.com/assets/collections/stitchedin/guidewear/tidal.html
