Most of my fishing is done in 10ft or less so what I do is use 2 mudpoles aka 10-15' 3/4in galvanized pipe. Stick them into the mud and tie off to them. If it is to soft for the poles i will try to tie up the front and anchor out the back.
Now in deep water I'm not that good at but Tom on here has a great method on how to anchor in deep water using a "t" method out the front with anchors.
Also I'm sure there is alot of different and better ways to do it but this is what Im the most comfortable with.

You might want to put a couple if large flat washers on the rod holders. Don't ask how I know!!! Lol
