Hmmm tough call I take a lot of gear with me for a night of catting, so much that folks give he a hard time about it, but I really do end up using most all of it, here's the short list:
Lantern, chair, rod holders, rods, stink / punch bait bucket, large cooler for drinks and dinner, small cooler for worms and cut bait, tackle box, extra line, minnow bucket in case nothing else is working, cast net, 5 gallon bucket, range cubes, pocket knife, pliers, scissors, scale, fish grips, bump board, sweatsuit, rain gear, fold up tripod for hanging the lantern, towel, extra socks, sunglasses, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, radio, iPod, cell phone, earbuds, cigar or two, lighter, camp axe (hatchet), and extra batteries...
That's all I can think off without looking, but that pretty much all of it lol. I know ir seems like a lot but I use 90% of it every trip.

A landing net. The last two times i forgot a net while catfishing, I hook into 2 really nice buffalo. I was able to land them, but it WAS A CHALLENGE!! Also when I use ultra light gear (6lb test for channels) it is a requirement.
