Holbrook and Hawkins are sweet little lakes. Personally, I like Holbrook the best.

I would either go with Holbrook or Winnsboro. Hawkins would have been my hands down pick several years ago but the grass has all but gone.

Dont forget Quitman.
Holbrook, Winnie & Hawkins or do a roadrunner tournament between the 3 lakes.

Hawkins has been dead since they killed the grass, if you
are lucky you might find some fish up north under bridge, but it is hit or miss.

Our club fished Holbrook, the weekend before last, winner had 18 pounds, post spawn pattern, i was second with 13 pounds looking for spawners in deeper water, only found the buck bass. the next four places were seperated by a half a pound.

Another club fished there last weekend and the winner had 18 pounds.

Quitman is always good this time of year too, head to the creek in the northeast corner of the lake.

I hate to have to say it but Holbrook has been a lot better than Winnsboro this year.

We fished Holbrook in February and it took 17 to win with an 8.95 BB. It took 15+ to get in top 5 with three more fish over 6 lbs.

We fished Winnsboro in March. It took 12 lbs to win, 8 lbs to get in the top 5 with two 4lb fish weighed in. There were also 9 people that zeroed.

Set the hook first, ask questions later!!!
