So heres my situation, I recently bought a 1991 custom aluminum bass boat with an 89 150 Mariner outboard. Since its a custom boat I dont see how they could assign a value to it. The only way to replace it would be to have a new one built which would be very expensive, but i wouldnt want the ins co to try and use a value from a regular aluminum boat from that era. This thing is fabricated from 3/16" alum. Has a padull etc. The engine is good too, its old but still has 128-132psi on all 6 cylinders. What should i expect.

Thanks

This is really not to diffacult. You have a purchase agreement to confirm your investment when you bought it. What you will need to do is determine what improvments you are going to make. Including electronics ect. I will be able to insure this boat on an Agreed value policy based on your investment with no issues at all. Please give me a call and we can go over your needs. Thanks Bob Luellen 800-339-1235

I have had this situation so to help I am getting a appraisel so that I can have on paper what its worth. Almost like when you are trying to get a value for jewelry. Works same way.

You don't need an appraisal. Just tell your agent everything you can about the boat and agree on a value with him. If you can't agree on a value that you're comfortable with, find another agent.

My situation was different as my boats 30 years old and totally restored. As soon as appraisel was finished getting insurance was a breeze

I've always had an agreed value policy on all my boats. NADA doesn't cover everything you add to it.

Scott,

Am I reading this correctly? Did you seriously hijack Bob's post and plug your own company? I can't speak for everyone Scott but personally that alone will keep me from using your services. I mean it IMO speaks loudly of your morals and raises a red flag about your character.......J/S. Bob is a class act and just laughed when you did this as I would have had to restrain from slashing at you. It is a free forum and you could have just started your own reply NOT discount his reply. Life is about choices and we all have and make them. My choice is to respect others. I am sure you will not agree with my response but after all it is my choice. Just for the record I do not insure with Bob but have in the past. On my old boat he couldn't meet State Farms price.
