I know the water is down and its a little cooler, but dang I can't figure it out. Last year I started throwing sassys shallow on Mar. 17th and the next 3 following weekends. We caught lots of overs the first time then started getting into mass quantities of fish the following trips with the occasional over. Went this past weekend and everything still looked deep on the graph. Dont understand, has the low water and cooler temps effected the fishing tremendously or did I get spoiled last year.

U got spoiled smile
Lots of fish to be caught just gotta look in different spots..all my lure fish lately have come still dead sticking in deep water or throwing sassys on
sandy structure.
Lots of fish holding in the bigger creeks now and still lots in the deep open water in the mid lake area..
I have found the very early bite to be best this last week..some say afternoons are good but the only thing afternoons are good for in my book is napping smile
I've been leaving out before daylight and having a box full of fish before 10 am..after that it seems to slow way down for me..but I'm usually done before 1-2 pm.
I haven't caught any shallow fish this year but I haven't really been fishing for em either..all my fish have been coming from 20-60 feet of water.

For me , it has been finding the feeding fish, but I can spend more time on a "slow" school. All I have used so far, is deadsticking, learned from the pro that posted here 1st (JD) thumb
I have in years past, used shad in March with good luck (most of the time)
When a guide has to "load the boat" they may move several miles to get what they need, but of course they know what their doing, I sometimes have to " nit-pick" at'm

Fish on Eagle Mountain are 6 weeks behind last year. Today water temp back down to 54. Suspect Texoma is behind due to the cold water.

I have researched the method of deadsticking a little, seems like a very effective method for some but I am too high strung needing to cast and blast. Maybe I did get spoiled....Maybe not lets hope not. All the other places I have been have seem to be very behind been stuck inbetween 50-54 degree water seems like forever. Going to give it a couple weeks then try, try, try again.
