So I have been up to my a#@ is alligators for the last two years. And the culmination of my efforts come to an end this spring. 18 months ago me and my wife moved from the farthest northern city in the world (Barrow Alaska, You know in the movie 30 days of night). I was the chiropractor for that village for 2 years. Life is hard that far north, and we made the big move to Dallas so I could start and finish a nurse practitioner program. I knew that if we were going to live in Dallas and enjoy the metroplex that we would need to get outdoors. Having a fishing background myself I convinced my wife that we should by kayak and learn how to bass fish. That was 9 months ago when I started getting interested in this forum. I have learned a lot just logging into this site daily and reading what you guys are all up to. I have to admit my schedule has been so bad that we have not been able to get out to meet many of you on the water. And now my wife is 37 weeks pregnant and we will be having our first this week. My hope is that after all this "life" stuff calms down I can start to get out and De-stress and meet some of you guys on the water. I just wanted to say thanks for how helpful you guys are to those us us new to bass fishing, and to kayaking. I have not posted much in the last few months but I have have stayed connected as much as my time would allow just by reading posts.

welcome Brighton!

Happy to hear from folks anytime they can post. Glad you made it out of the far reaches up north to as little more kayak friendly weather. Congrats on your upcoming joy!

You know whats funny about that movie... They didn't even film it in Barrow cause they couldnt get the actors to go up there and freeze their butts off. So... They built a copy, although smaller in New Zealand.

From Barrow to Dallas...what a big jump! Welcome to the metromess. Our winters here will be a joke to you but unfortunately we have about 10 months of summer. See you on the water.
