Anybody else out there fish pink topwaters? Especially at this time of the year? I don't know what it is, but it seems like a pink Spook or Top Dog will flat out catch them. Sometimes even when there's not topwater bite to speak of. Just seeing if anybody else has had this kind of experience with weird colored baits!

Pink Spook Jr from November through March is deadly. That time span is the only time I have pink tied on (hard bait or soft bait) to the end of my rod.

My Pop always told me Pink, is THE color to throw when the water is cold. He chunks old Hot Pink "Bingos" all Winter long... I still have a few Top-Dogs with the Blue/Green/Chart./Orange(Kinda like the Rapala "Parrot" color) color that nobody ever bought... Too bad for them as I've caught numerous Bass, Specks, and Reds on them.

So where is the prime areas and times to use them? I've had success on top waters but not like I think I could. I know morning is the best. But some tips would be great!

Pink is my favorite color, doesn't matter if its top water, soft plastic, gulp, or even flies. Pink always catches

What areas do you look for to do this prime? Bays? Flats with the grass? Surf? If I could be down there all the time i'd trial and error it like i've done my whole life here. I'm ok down there but I need just a lil pointing in a direction. Thanks guys

For early morning in the surf, the best bait is a She Dog, which is made by Mirrolure, the same as the Top Dog. It has a little more rattle and the fish seem to hear it best in the surf. For the bay you cannot go wrong with the Pink Top Dog Jr. Look for mullet in both the bay and the surf, you are more likely to catch trout if there is bait around. Hope this helps.

Yes sir no doubt! Does anyone know anything about wading Christmas Bay? A few buddies and my self are taking a instructional trip with John Havens in may at East Matagorda, I feel kinda dumb being a guide my self and going on a guided trip but I just want to know how to be more successful wade fishing because I do absolutely love it. Maybe because its still new to me idk.. but I GREATLY appreciate any tip or help, big or small.
