The fuel gauge only reads two bars all the time havent paid any attention to the speedometer to make sure its working properly im more worried about the fuel guage not workign properly does anybody have any tricks to fixing this? Ive priced a new gauge and they arent cheap so id rather just try and fix it if i can. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks

Does the gauge move when you turn the key off??? If it does then it might be the sending unit on the tank. If not then you will need a new gauge.

Odds are it is a bad sending unit. Much more prone to go bad than a guage. Mine went out and just read 1/4 tank, full or empty. Take it out and hook the wires back, move the float up and down. It will sometimes give readings off and on or false ones when bad. about $25 to replace.

I'm not old. My bobbers just float a little lower than they used to.
