Ask the crappie guys. They seem to do it by accident all the time. LOL.....

Have not caught a 10+ yet, but a 9+ -- on a shallow crankbait. Y all-time big fish bait is a 10" or 12" Berkley Power Worm (black).

Both mine came on worms. One was a Texas rig with a big Yum worm and the other was on a shakey head with a Zoom worm.

One on a Texas rig, watermelon seed Zipper worm (6 inch, I think). One on a Texas rig, 7 inch blue fleck Berkley Power Worm. One on a 1/4 oz Picasso shaky head with a green pumpkin finesse worm.

The biggest fish I ever hooked was from a private lake on a Reflecto Barracuda spoon with a yellow bucktail. Got her within five feet of me before she made a rund and broke my line and my heart...

amazing all your fish came in at xx.00 and .25 increments! wink

Well Rob, not all folks use digital scales. I happen to use a Cardoza spring type scale that is regulated in 2 oz. increments. the 13 for instance was a tad over 13 but not quite 13.25 You will find that a high quality spring scale is at the very minimum as accurate and in most cases more consistently accurate than the hand held digitals that most fishermen carry in their boat. The deciding factor to me is the reliability. Spring scales don't need batteries, don't mind getting wet, dropped or most any other form of abuse. In the world i live in, being able to read in the hundredths is a complete non-issue. Hope this clarifies my posted weights.

Those are probably the two baits you fish the most.

Ding,ding,ding....Folks we have a winner here. You are absolutely correct. They are what I fish the most, the best and have the most confidence in. Henceforth when I find myself on a lake with a higher probability of large fish, these 2 lures will more than likely be what the fish are presented. And since I am the most proficient with these lures that ups the probability of getting the fish to eat them.

Best possible would be IMO a jig or a big swimbait. Most likely would be a jig or a soft plastic. Or a jerkbait.

My 10.5lb came from a Black/Blue Jig with a blue pork trailer.

Best possible lure would be the lure that crosses the nose of a hungry 10# plus bass.
