Who would buy a 2006 18'6" nitro bass boat with no motor? How much would it be to put a used motor on? Does the installation cost a lot? I'm 22 and have cash for just the boat and thinking of just running the trolling motor till I can save for the motor.

Why not buy a little older boat that is ready to fish? What price range are you looking at

if your interested I have an 82 175 johnson for sale, runs excellent, already off the boat. repowered with more hp is the only reason its for sale.

its at my mechanics, can be mounted and ready to go for 1,600.00 (this includes mounting it) you would need controls for a johnson/evinrude if the boat is not so equipped.

1995 Skeeter 200zx for $3000.

I only have $2000-$2500 I saved for a down payment but I can't find a boat loan because I'm 22 and have lack of credit history. My credit is good and I have a great job. So I'm down to this option or owner finance, which is tough to find.

Have you tried rec lending on here. Hat is a solid down payment on a older boat.

Reclending declined me saying not enough credit history.

Depending on what is wrong with it you would be looking around 3000 to get it fixed. Something you have to think about is how long will it be until you could get the motor rebuilt. But when it was done you would know what you had.

All I can say is get a credit card and use it correctly, pay the balance every month, pay any other bills on time, and if you have a great job then stop eating out and whatever else you do to spend money other than necesities and in 6 months time you will have cash for a boat.

Does anyone know if anyone does owner financing these days? If so, how do they do it to keep everything trustworthy?
