Can you even put in on the new side without 4WD. Can you launch by yourself?. Last time I was there, you had to back the truck dang near all the way in the lake.

If you launch on the old side, can you get thru the tunnel to the new side?

This time of year, which side will produce more numbers? Any suggestions on lures, presentations, areas to focus on?
PM me if you need to.

I was there last week. Selma is the only good ramp, but if you go alone, you're getting wet.

You can launch at the new side, you just have to back in real far. Suggest you take a friend, then when he gets in the boat, he's gonna have to get wet, unless he walks a long way back towards the dam to jump on boat.
I've never launched on the old side. I always go prepared to get a little wet. Just take a pair of rubber boots, then when you get in just stash them out of your way. It's worth it. Such a great lake for bass fishing. You might see 10 boats the whole day.
You can cross thru the tunnel still, but it looks like that ramp on the north side is in the same condition as Jake B. stated.
As far as fishing, There are no guides. This is the time you simply throw a watermelon lizard on C-Rig or T-Rig. The big girls are coming up out of that deep clear water, you have more of a chance catching a 10 lb. fish from this lake than any other lake in north Texas.
I prefer the new side, as I have always caught fish on that side, I like the bank straight accross from the boat ramp. Both coners of the dam hold fish and the back of the pocket to the right of the dam has some grass in it on a hump out in the middle of the pocket. The fish also hold to rocks on this side as there are no boat docks. Those dark colored rocks hold heat. Come late, stay late, as this lake is still cold. Best bite is later in the day.

Wow, David, what a great report. Thanks for the advice. We will be out there no matter what, hope to rip a few lips.
I've never really caught a whole lot of largemouth out there, but I know a lot of people have.

Skeeter, during this time of the year, what do you see works best for the big bite? What about for numbers?
Most of my luck has come off of shad color squarbill cranks or senko sytle weightless plastics.
I've missed several NICE fish with a Lake Fork Tackle HyperFreak, watermelon red.

PM Sent!! Launch from the old side(Selma Park)! You can get through the tunnel just make sure you trim up your motor as your either enter from the old side or exit to the old side. It gets real shallow on that side(Maybe 3.5 ft deep)! Give me a call this week sometime and I will lead you in the right direction. We will be in a white skeeter zx210. Call me or find me. Just to get you started. . . you can find me on the old side wink wink!!

Fish the old side. Jigs, shakey heads, spinner baits and crank baits. Gonna get after them Saturday hopefully. Can't tell u the secret spots. Haha. I'll be on old side though. Never had much luck on new side. But I give up on it too quick and go back to old side to catch fish.
