Anyone been fishing the North Bosque for white bass? If I drop in a kayak at Eichelberger crossing, should I head upriver or down toward Lake Waco?
Thanks!

Boated all the way up river yesterday to where it was impassable. A few males here and there, that's it. Not worth going way up there, at least not yet.

My father & I went up the North Bosque Saturday the 16th (morning) & we started fishing too far down. A buddy I went to high school with actually came past us a after the sun came up & told us we were not far enough yet. We followed them til we couldnt go anymore. I have a 15' aluminum Vbottom w/25hp & also have 2 troll motors on back for shallow water. There are 2 spots that I had to lift even the troll motors b/c prob in a foot & 1/2 water, we had to paddle off the bottom to cross these spots. Once up there, we caught 4 crappie & 8 whites in a few hours, all on lures, no live bait. Caught them from 3-8ft of water & caught a few trolling also. My 25hp needs some maint, took to the shop this week, so will be putting in at Baylor Camp Road Bridge w/my 12' Jon & both troll motors this Sat morning & will be at the fish spot b4 the sun comes up. We had never been on the NBosque - we grew up on Lake Belton/Leon River, but now we know where & how to fish - ITS ON!!

Just recently moved to the area and was curious about where to find the sandies running. If I'm coming from say downtown Waco area how do i get the the areas of the river to fish? I'm guessing its west on 6, its that right?

This is bank fishing.

I talked with a good fishing friend of mine today, and he caught and released over 50 whites today in the main lake. I have not gone up the rivers yet because we are still catching limits in the big lake. Good luck and please post how you do. Call me if you want to go catch a limit. www.thecrappieking
