I have the Android version of Navionics mobile and I'd have to say, well worth the $10!! Wish here was a feature that would allow the screen to stay on while app is in use. Hate having to turn the screen back on every 5 minutes.

Anyone know if Lakemaster has better coverage of Indian Creek on Ray Rob than Navionics?

I just wish they would show the timbered areas as shaded or something.

Sorry bud, but this is very untrue. It is well worth the money (at least on the lake I fish). The folks that took the time to write the reviews must not be fishermen.

The newest navionics platinum shows really nice creekbeds drawn out plus docks and wood, vegetation too. Lakemaster doesn't show much other than contour lines. I have both but use navionics more.

Lots of good info in this thread. A few points to clarify: ALL Navionics chips manufactured after June 2010 are "updatable." It's not Navionics intention to screw the people with chips that are older than that...it's just when the necessary hardware/nTag changes became available and were implemented to allow Freshest Data updating to exist.
There are small areas of coverage on certain lakes that have been dropped. There is both public and private source data available to companies to use in their mapping. standard lakes on Lakemaster, for example, are likely all old public surveys. In any area where accuracy issues were reported to/discovered by Navionics and accuracy cannot be verified - the questionable data is pulled. Navionics would rather not mislead you with false data under any circumstance. I think that's a rather bold and pro-active stance as opposed to taking the "anything is better than nothing" stance and simply interpolating contours off crappy data.
The data you view on the Navionics Mobile Apps should be the same that you view on an updated chart card product. If its not, update your chip.
SonarCharts will be a great way to get a fresh look at any area you boat/fish. Unfortunately right now, only Humminbird users will be able to contribute out if the gate. Navico customers can still view, though.
Features such as depth highlight, water level adjustment, and MORE are coming soon. Stay tuned...
The effort to constantly improve, update, and add to the catalog is ongoing at Navionics. We welcome suggestions, and welcome contributions such as UGC on the Community Layer and soon your participation in the daily evolution of the SonarCharts layer. As always, our proprietary efforts will remain the strongest in the industry.
And each and every bit of new and updated information will be availed to our customers on a daily basis via Freshest Data. Never again will a Navionics customer be forced to by and sell static cards on a yearly basis to improve the charting tool.
This is a fantastic forum. Keep it up. Thanks for all the PMs - I try to get back to you ASAP!

I think you will find the app quite useful and informative. You get Navionics maps on your phone for the entire US for $9.99. You can put way points, routes, track your self, see interesting articles .... You can create new waypoints, but you can not transfer your existing waypoints to the app. I bought this app because I was fishing with someone else. I couldn't transfer my waypoints, so I had to purchase GPS Tracks app so I could use my waypoints.
