Take a ride in one then you'll know. Fishability for me with lot's of deck space and storage. Handles great in rough water. You can still get parts if needed even if it is 20yrs old. It's a Ford or Chevy question. You'll get pro's and cons no matter what brand you buy. My 188 VS fits my needs and expectations.

Stability when fishing and lots of room/storage. Everyone that fishes with me in my Z521 says the boat is just damn comfortable to ride and fish from. I agree. Comfy like a Caddilac.

I have a 1991 Ranger 375V- bought it new. You can get parts very easy if you need them. Yeah, they are more expensive than other boats, but if you want to have a boat for life, buy a Ranger.

Thanks guys!! Yes I know they are expensive... But hell you get what you pay for and that's with anything right? Resale value is something I am looking for although I will probably have the boat for awhile... I can't afford a brand new one especially since I want a z521... But I have found plenty of used that look like great boats... I have never been in one or fished out of one but I love the layout and they are just plain sexy boats to me... I'm sure I will be happy... I like my nitro but when you get an itch you just have to scratch it... Lol!! Thanks everyone!!

I just bought this "slightly used"(40hrs) 2013 521 Ranger. http://s1294.beta.photobucket.com/user/neilbober/media/image_zpsfc56face.jpg.html?sort=3&o=1 I had a pristine 1992 Ranger 361V taken out on the freeway last year. It got sideswiped at high speed and slid down the freeway off it's trailer. The boat had limited damaged considering the speed at which it departed the trailer. The motor was hanging off the back with all the mounts broke. I fought with the other guys insurance company then "gifted" it to a friend of mine. He replaced the trim/tilt/motor mounts, had a nominal amount of fibergless work done, straighten the pretzel of a trailer and I have fished with him out of my old boat. Even the transom did not have a single spiderweb crack in it! Thats why I bought another Ranger. This one could be my last boat..unless someone takes it out again!

Come to Texas Boat World. Have demos in both Ranger and Triton that we can go to the lake in.

I bought a new one back in the late 70's and sometimes wish I still had her. A heavier boat no doubt but solid like all get out. It, with up keep and care, can be the last boat you will ever buy. Good luck in your choice sir.
