Between fronts the fishing has really started to heat up for us. Drifting has been the most productive for producing solid boxes while wading is the ticket for big trout and reds. Scattered mud/shell is the key while drifting along with finding decent water or at least streaky water lines. Bait is obviously the key while wading and tidal movement is needed whether drifting or wading. Here are a few pictures from our recent trips, hope you enjoy.

Great report and nice fish. East or West bay?

I love the Matagorda cleaning station. Other cities need to provide them.

Mostly west matty, had one day where we went into east and did rather well and its the fish in the yetti cooler that looks like there's no ice because we are holding bag. Here are a few fish we caught about a month ago now wading in east before we got all this crazy weather. I'm glad that our marina has the cleaning tables like they do, I'm not sure how everyone else has it, but they sure make things nice.

The fish in the first 3 pictures were all released.

Nice catch! Do you have a lot of success with lures with bright pink? I see a couple in the photo's. Do they work better in colder water?

Thanks and lure selection depends on a few things: water color, time of year, and most importantly what you feel confident throwing. Some of us will throw the same color/lure all day because we feel the most confident in it and will only change if another color is just hammering them. Most of the time we will have everyone start out with a different color to see what is going to be the most productive that day or tell everyone to tie on their favorite/most confident lure to start the day(as long as we don't have 5ppl all throwing the same thing, unless we have been stroking them with that lure). Hope this helps.

Very solid advice.
