I have a 7'6'' rod I use for frogs/pitching etc. The rod is a moderate action, and could handle a big crankbait, but I like to have braid on this set-up. Is it necessary to have a seperate rod with mono/floro for deep divers?

Get a spare spool for the same reel and each one loaded with line for each application. No reel changing... only the spool.

30lb braid is great for fishing the thick stuff.

Been using 30lb braid since the first part of the year for deep divers and I've got no complaints. Now pending what the gear ratio of your reel is you may be able to stick with it. Course that's up to you! Me I would go buy a new reel, line it braid and switch out when you were ready to chunk the deep divers.

That would be one helluva break off if you had to.

I have used 30 lb power pro. It seems to work good, especially when throwing the 10 xd. The last thing u wanna do is launch that bait and have line snap on cast. Oh, rocks and braid, NOT so good. It will work, just check the first couple feet of line every so often.
