I used to live in mesquite, and you talk about going downhill... I used to drive all the wat around to Terry Park, just because it was never as busy as the other ramps.. Im sure its had its fair share of break ins also..

most scrap metal yards here locally are around industral/riverfront, lamar area downtown dallas. But there no telling were they took it to sell. Now you must show id to sell but that still have not stop them.

Happened to a buddy of mine's 4-Runner. Broad daylight in a Walmart parking lot. Also saw on another forum someone's truck broken into and ignition messed with at the Cabela's in Allen not too long ago. That's why I rock the brake pedal lock and am usually carrying as well.
