I never really cross over to bass on the fly. I fish a few tournaments and really like fishin them on conventional. Trout and sand bass are another story. I finally took my eight wt. with me one trip caught on right at seven pounds on a Mylar popper and havnt done it sence lol. The smallie in my sig also came on a clouser in the guad. Just curious to y'all's biggest on the fly.

Caught one that went 5 to 6#s this winter on a bunny hair crawfish slow and low. That's not really huge but biggest on the fly so far.

Largest was about 7.5 lbs (23 inches) on a Yuk Bug and my trusty five wt. Sage XP, fishing at dusk on a private lake on Love Creek Ranch near Medina. Second largest, about 5 lbs, came about six casts later, same fly. Quite a night!

The easy answer to this question for me will always be, "Not big enough!"

The biggest that I have photographic evidence of is this big, pretty, green girl from Lake Athens in May of last year. Caught on (what else) an Upside Down Frog in a size 2 on my "little" Mini Mag. My heart still races a little when I remember seeing this fish roll in the lily pads after I hooked her. I was scared to death that I wouldn't be able to get her in the boat.

Here's a nice bass caught last weekend on Lake Athens; not mine, but I slobbered on my keyboard lookin at it.-p-
