I've got one. Had it close to 2 years and have caught a ton of fish on it. Still going strong.

I've personally owned one that broke fighting a fish after only a few weeks of having it and have witnessed another brake while my buddy was fighting a fish. No thanks.

I haven't had ANY problems with the 3 I have. Hopefully, they will stay that way. Hope this helps.

Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

The last 2 rods I bought were Dobyns, however.

Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

What Academy did you find them for $39?

I haven't seen that price.

$59.99 everyday price...........maybe $10 - $15 cheaper during rod riot. Micros are $70 I believe.

I like the lightweight feel and sensitivity of these rods, even in a 7' heavy. 7' heavy are hard to find in stores however. Down here anyway...

I ended up getting one at the Academy in Lewisville, on the last day of the rod riot, for $40.

Its paired with one of the new gen BPS Extreme reels ($60 right now, I paid $90 like a dope). The rod and reel are paper light. Since mid week last week I've caught a good number 2 - 4lb fish with it, but nothing over 4lbs. So far it's handled the fish like a Cadillac. I've been using it to work a wacky worm around the rim of a few ponds. My only gripe is I got a med heavy, and its a little too weak on the hookset for me. I lost a few fish early that came unhooked, but since then I've made sure to lay the wood on the hookset and its been ok. I would recommend getting a heavy if considering getting one if its for any soft plastics.

All in all so far so good.
