Is there a rule for smoking while in a tornament.? And if not would you let a non boater smoke in the back of your $30, 000 bass boat. If you are a non smoker, there is no way you are letting someone get into your truck and light one up on the way too the lake!

DUDE a guy smoking on the back deck of a boat in the WIDE FREAKING OPEN really rubs you wrong!?!?! I get the truck thing, but 15+ foot away with a stiff wind on a boat!?!?! You wouldnt know he was uless the wind changed, or you turned around and saw him.

no problem here, I smoke on the front of my boat.

if you don't want your back seat smoking just tell them nicely, it is your boat and your rules.
if you let them smoke make some rule about burning carpet then do not get pizzed if they do.

have a butt can available if they are gonna smoke and do not let them toss them in the lake, all my butts go in the cockpit floor and cleaned up when I get home.

I've ask my non-boaters to only smoke if they are not fishing, don't want burnt carpet spots on my back deck, all have complied so far.

And yes it is my $50,000 boat so I do expect you to honor my request

It's fine til you burn a hole in the carpet of that 30K boat. As a smoker I smoke if I can and don't if asked. With guides I tell them I smoke cause I enjoy it when I fish, and at 400+ a day I want to enjoy.

Why you ask anybody what they thought? It is your boat do want you want. I use to smoke and have friends that do. I don't give a sheet if they want to smoke in my boat. Or if I was in draw tournament and the non-boater smoked .That would be alright too.

Only smokin going on in my boat is us smokin the fish.....until I have about 4 beers. Then I will expect him to have one so I can bum...or borrow, if you will.

Not a big deal at all unless the dude lays it on the edge of the seat to land a fish. Then it's a problem.

Burned the front deck carpet on my '12 FX this weekend. Made me sick!

As for non-boaters smoking in the back seat. I'd be a hypocrite to forbid the practice. Plus, if the guy was my "team" partner, I don't think I'd want to mess with his mojo on tournament day. Perhaps afterward if that was of concern to me.

Best to discuss things like this in person, up front, on tournament morning.

Same goes for guide trips. One of the first questions I ask is "do you mind if I smoke while in your boat?" Their facial expression will usually tell me all I need to know.

i smoke, dont mind if others do, just politely ask them to be careful is all i do. The boat is gonna get messed up somehow, a burn hole, a scratch, heck when I bought my new one my best friend asked me where I wanted the first scratch on it while holding a key lol. Its your boat, do as you think best, if you dont want him smoking tell him and maybe he can go with someone who doesnt mind.

i always ask the day before so i can get some camel snus if i can't smoke. nobody ever said no. so i smokem like i gottem. only boat i ever burnt was mine and thats the least of the poor things worries.
