Well it was awesome once again... Fished mainly the lower end of the lake and focused on super clear points and any structure in or leading to spawning areas. Water temps were around 63 or so in the morning but when the sun got up it warmed up quickly depending on where we were. Afternoons were perfect and we were able to sight fish which is what I wanted to do... Didn't see any real giants up shallow but there were definitely some nice ones and they were hungry! All the big ones we boated were still in deeper water (15-30') but I think in the next week or so it's going to be crazy when they start too move up! I love that lake, it's so fun to fish and I learn something new ever time I go. If I hit the lottery I'm moving there the next day!!! We tried all different lures but the biggest players for us were shakey heads and jerk baits. I buy a whole box of stuff ever time before I go and always end up throwing a dinger all day, they love those things down there. So save your money and stock up. Averaged 40 fish a day and BB for the trip was an 8.78, she was not on a bed. Good electronics is a must!! Shad colored jerk baits and anything dinger, I prefer green pumpkin cause they will eat it often and you can see it if you wanna bed fish. Most other people fish with white, just something different and a little more natural in my opinion. It was hard to head home today but its back to life, if anyone is going in the near future good luck and be safe! Hope this report helps...

Take some red dip-n-dye and stay close to diablo east.....like right beside the ramp. Lol we sight fished two off a bed right beside the ramp with an audience watching. That made the whole trip for me. Yes sir, the next month or so should really be good. Already trying to figure out how I can get back with the next full moon.

what days were you down there fishing just out of curiousity? I was down there from last weds and left sunday morning. We averaged bout 10 a day but everyone else we talked to was averaging 2-3 a day. The only reason i ask is we figured with the cloud cover that came in on sunday was going to kick the fishing up as everyone has told me that the fishing is better in cloud cover on that lake and im just curious if thats true or not.

I guess some can fish, and those who can't just think it must be bs for actual fisherman to catch em! I am real skeptical to post anything on here any more because of stuff like this. Couple of haters and others who just doubt everything because they can catch a cold. You should read the report and go try it, or not.
T-dalt gave what I took as a good report, and just because you can't fish doesn't mean the report is no good. I hope more reports get posted and the haters keep their mouth shut. Before to long people will just stop giving honest reports. Start fishing more and posting less, that's my advice!!

Thanks for the great report T-dalt! These are the kind of reports that get me pumped up to head down to Amistad this weekend. I'll be fishing in the Texas Tech Bass Club tournament down there, and its looking like we might get a little wind this weekend. Hopefully I stumble upon atleast one dumb mexican fish looking for a free meal, but if not I'll just sling a senko dead into the wind so I can have something to do for the next 30 minutes while I take the scissors to the Seaguar. Feel free to PM me with some of your super secret spots (remember I'm a broke college kid so I don't get to go to Amistad very often.
