Just wanted to thank all the guys at the dock and out fishing. Great to meet John Varner, while he was waiting on Reuben. John I want to thank you for giving me some of the Dead Head Jig Heads from www.moestackleshop.com they work great. I used one on a Yum Houdini shad, and the action was amazing! Saw MtnDew at the dock, who needed new plugs, and Double Dee loading up his new SeaFox. Went back out in the afternoon, ran into JV, Ruben, and Jeff Craft working slabs where some birds had been. That died off and about 6:45 birds started working everywhere in the flats you could have just picked one of the many spots. Caught them jigging Godfather slabs. What a great day on the lake regardless of the wind in the morning. Can't wait to go back. Oh forgot also caught a 5 lb. large mouth on a swim-bait. Which I released as well.

I was out there all day too. It turned into a nice day. I looked hard for the birds at 6:45 but never saw them. Where are the flats? Near BPS?

We didn't catch very many but I did catch my personal best. 7.7lbs 22'' Hybrid!
Took my pic with that bad boy and let him go!

The flats as I know them, are South of I-30 between The Harbor and Chandlers on the east to Bay view Marina on the west and extend South past Bay view Marina by about 300-400 yards. Mostly averaging around 28 ft. Fill free guys to correct me if I am wrong.

Steve is correct but some people refer to the flats in front of Bass Pro Shop as well. What they are talking about is right in front of the windows of Bass Pro shop towards Robinson Park.

What is the RHSA? I just got my first CC boat, with ipilot and a humminbird 898SI. So if the RHSA is something I can join maybe I should, I think I should have all the equipment to qualify! smile

Plus, I decided a while back to start releasing all the hybrids I catch...

The Ray Hubbard Sportmens Association is a non-profit organization formed by local fishermen who are concerned about the Hybrid population in our lake. The goal of RHSA is to raise funds for a private stocking program for Lake Ray Hubbard.
