Anyone ever fish lake halbert? Looks pretty fishy from 287, needing to go try it out I think

Excuse my lack of knowledge but where is Lake Halbert?

On 287, on the left as your going to RC. I've heard the crappie bite has been good.

I've heard they do good up around the railroad bridge this time of year. I've never actually fished it. There is a nice park there and I think they have a fishing pier. Free boat ramp.

You mean it actually got some water in it. I haven't been that way in years but I have seen it so dry you could barely see any water from 287.

ABSOLUTELY !!& to the forum Lip ripper Halbert is an excellent Crappie Lake in the spring along the RR tracks.There is a very nice fishing pier . The water is very accessible and it is a small boat or Kayak lovers dream.

Yep, I'd be walking the rr around the bridge.

i fish it 3 times a week..and prefer it over most other lakes....

If you have a boat, the the old wooden pilings that run a few feet out and parallels the rocks at the dam always hold good crappie.

and heres the skinny..will post later...hit em in the head yesterday (limit)...couldnt buy a bite today....not sure why, but i threw everything..including a rock lol...if you dont like snakes...stay off the rr trussel..the crappie are big but...the snakes are huge! I wont be hard to spot...i will be the bearded hippie looking guy always there so sayeth my wife.
