I'll be all ears for the smallmouth tips. Check this forum more than the Bass one, as they seem to be all tourney guys. I fish for fun and consider it a win if I catch anything.

Day started nasty, front blew in around 7:20am. Wind and cold didn't go over to well with the girls.
Went NE 1st, found fish had a 1 bite then the trollers started their thing, so West we headed.

Found a large flock of gulls working, 3 other boats already there, I started to line up a drift (no TM) and a ditch pickle boat blasted right threw the center realmad , birds moved and so did we.

Marked allot of fish in the mouth of Big Mineral (west half), but girls still "cold" so that didnt last long.

Went West past the bridge where I have been going and it was on for about 20 minutes, then boats started creeping in, wasn't long and the fish moved. (kinda odd really.) Ended up with a bakers dozen, girls missed allot of bites trying to get the "reaction thing" down.

We had good luck on the same fluke setup (pearl/pepper, red tailed garlic dip, chartruese 1oz head) and this time 50% caught on the Bass assassin 5" Trout.

Weather turned great as they where ready to go.....go figure.

Quick shout out of thanks to JD Lyle for the early morning help!! Did my best brother, but " I aint no guide"!! bang grin

I fished friday. We stayed mostly around Burns east and west. We had four guys fishing and had a limit of good box fish and a couple of overs in about 3 hours. Our biggest was a 29". still throwing artificials. Live bait was slow !!!!

Ok PKfishin, last fall I was fishing for stripers. Got up early as usual to catch shad. Took a right out of Highport and went to the mouth of the first cove. Thats where the stripers where the day before. Well that morning they had moved and I had been fishing about 50'-100' from the shoreline. Well I figured since it was morning maybe they were literally right on the shore. So I moved into 8' of water and followed the shoreline until it turned into the cove. That when I caught a spotted bass. So I rebaited and threw back into the same spot and began yo pull out a few smallies. Then I proceeded into the cove, staying in 8' of water caught many smallmouth in 30 min. Then headed back out for stripers. The next morning I figured I would go back and see if I could catch them on artificials. Well, not a single bite. So I switched back to shad which I had rig on a Carolina rig with a live bait hook and started catching smallies. The shad I were using were 2"-3".

I was using the Carolina rig dropped straight off the side of the boat one crank off of the bottom. Not sure if this would work in the spring but I'm guessing bit would be awesome.

Bubba, good to see that you're getting fishing time in. Would you believe that I STILL haven't had time to take my boat in for that throttle/shifter problem?

I understand Zack, I'm taking my boat trailer in on Monday to get a new rear seal put in. Put it off for too long, hopefully I didn't do to much damage.
