Yes I read that as well. It could easly be argued that a throwable on top in a locker is ready accessible. Just flip the door and it is readily accessible. I am NOT trying to argue and I DO have one out at all times. Just curious what the definition of "ready accessible" is?

Depends if it is the Coast Guard or Game Warden asking. The Coasties want it on the deck the Gamer said it could be in locker but not covered up with stuff hence readly accessible.

Not what texas parks and wildlife website says. Its says they must wear it when underway.

Children under 13 years of age in or on vessels under 26 feet must wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved wearable PFD while underway.
