Does anyone know of any issues surrounding the Veritas rods from Abu Garcia? I snapped 2 today while casting. By no means am I an aggressive caster, I don't whip the rod hard at all. 1 rod was 1year old and the other was 5 days old. First cast today at LSS series with a jig, snapped it near the tip about 6 inches from the tip. 3/4 of the way through my day, was throwing suspended shad and snapped another rod on the cast also about 8 inches from the tip.

Luckily I bought the warranty replacement but am nervous to replace the rods with the same ones if this is a common problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Possible you shut the rod box on em a little or anything lile that? Haven't heard of many breaking on hookset. However, veritas is the only rod i have ever broken that cost me over $50

Veritas seem to break easy I hear about it all the time.

I have 4 7'6 md hvy and have been using them for several years flipping in grass with braid and never had one break . I got 10 of them kept 4 and gave the rest away for anglers to test and have not heard of breakage issues.

Broke one two weeks ago on a hookset , around the same area you did ..I got my money back and got a different rod .

I haven't broke my veritas yet have broke two carrot sticks though. Do have a problem with the eyes on veritas though.

I wont own one. I have heard these stories allot. They are just a white carrot stick

One of the rods was new (5 days maybe), the other was a bit older than that (about a year). All of the rods have been well cared for and kept neatly in a rod box with ultimate care. I saw them break and both broke during the cast.... I bought two this week but after this, will be taking them back.

I have had many problems with the eyes falling out and I watched as my son on a cast broke my new carrot stick 1st time out.

Kistler KLX if that's it budget im pretty hard on my gear and have had no issues with this rod. Kistlers quality control with all there new rods is best of the best and they are made in Texas
