At weather.com you can type the zip code . This website has wind predictions it also gives hourly wind mph and a ten day forecast . It will give hourly forecasts for up to 36 hours. Its a very good tool to plan your trip around. Its very accurate ,I fish rivers on windy days and lakes on calm days .IT will tell which way the wind is blowing ,so maybe you can find a cove on a lake that wont be affected by the wind.If the wind is blowing 18mph out of the east , ill stick to the east side of the lake . this way the wind is not that bad because its not creating wake there, but on the west the wake will have enough momentum to be very bad . Or find a cove sheltered from the wind coming from that direction. Canyon lakes are good on windy days because you can totally be sheltered by the winds.A good example of this is whitney lake ,fished alote around cedar creek park for this reason.
