David Fuller and his son Matt fished with me, and most of the bass we caught were on beds, we were not site fishing but making long cast to the beds, the spawning bass I have been catching have been very spooky and if you get right on top of them they have been hard to catch. I told David and Matt when you get a bite do not set the hook until they move off with it, this is very hard to do because the first thing you want to do is set the hook when you get a bite, but most of these bites are short hits and if you set the hook right away you will miss most of them. We were working this one spot that is very shallow that has a lot of bedding bass on it, I told Matt and his dad to cast to this one spot by a big stump they did 5 or 6 times and nothing and right before we were going to move I said lets try one more time we did and we both set the hook at the same time we had a double going on we caught the male and female at the same time I wish I could say matt caught the female but she was on my hook, after a long fight we got both fish in the boat, the male went 3 1/2 pounds and the female went a whopping 10 lbs 4oz this is a picture of Matt holding the male and the female. Right after we put these fish back in the water matt�s dad made a long cast and he set the hook I got the net and another big bass in the boat, all I can say you can not make to many cast to one spot when these bass are spawning. All of our fish came on Watermelon Candy and Green Pumpkin Brush Hogs in 2 to 3 feet.    Good Fishing, David Vance www.lakeforktexasbigbass.com
