Hey guys, well I've started fly fishing 8years ago because of this forum, I'm more of a lurker on the forum and only post when I can help out, I used to have a fly tying get together at Sicily's on Mondays with some fellows on the board, short lived but very informational, well here goes nothing, I've tied over 1000's of flies in all assortments, some that I have not even had a use to use, I have just grown to love the sport of it, well here is my deal before I start to make a catalog of all my flies that I'm looking to unload cheap, I'm thinking around a 25-50 a fly, I just wanted to draw interest to see if some people who don't tie flies would be interested in me either making a website or just coming up to my work in McKinney tx for pick up and I'll also ship, but is there any interest or should I just keep all these flies and just give them away whenever I'm fishing?
Also what the interest in starting the fly tying get together at Sicilys on Mondays?
Thanks guys tight lines

I would recommend doing both. But I couldn't vote for that.

James I guess I'm going to keep these flies as there is no interest for them, most of the guys on the forum tie themselves, but I'll call you and we can talk on the phone later
Thanks guys

I voted "sell" cuz you always tie more and keep the ones you really like!

I used to sell my flies to a sports shop up in North Idaho. It got to the point where it wasn't really fun anymore, so I quit tying for quite a few years...I have found that when I just get together with friends and tie for the fun of it, or teach someone how to tie, or tie a few to go use then I really enjoy it more. When I'd sell to individuals I'd sell them for $1-$4 each, depending on what size and what pattern. You might be able to sell some here and there, but if you really want to make some money on them, then you might start to dislike tying because that's all you'll be doing for hours at a time because you HAVE to...JMTC
Fly tier (yeah, I can fly fish...but the fish don't like frothy water!)

My mom has always told me to start a guide business or get certified fly fishing instructor, but I know if you get paid to do that job, you have lost the reason you fell in love with the sport, for me, I like fishing cuz I get to be alone with no worries, its my peace, zen, peace

As a newbie to fly fishing, I'll gladly put down some cash to get a handful of flies to help me start my collection. I'll be looking forward to that post. -Makz

Have any bead eye Clousers in white and chartures. Or large white wooley buggers?

I would also be interested in buying. I plan on hopefully teaching myself on tying.
Can one become a master at fishing? Pshh... yes...

I would be interested in buying, I'm teaching my kid to fly fish and don't have time to tie as I'm terrible at it and it takes a long time to get it right. Pm me let me know what you have.
