I'm wanting to put 10lb berkley nanofil on my spinning reel. The package I picked up is 150 yards. My reel box claims it holds 120yds of 10lb line. Do I dare try to get two reels out of the one package? Do you need a backer like with braid to keep it from slipping on the spool?

Be cautious with the nano-fil. I have had friends tell me about losing big fish cause the knot slips. Sure it casts a country mile but weigh the pros and cons about that nano-fil line.

This thread has a good dicussion over it.

I put 8lb Nanofil on my light action crappie rod. I lost three jigs in a row breaking off. Berkley suggests a double palomar knot. I was using a single palomar. All I know is I can straighten the hook using 8lb mono. Very disappointed in this very expensive line. It will cast a mile though.

I threw that s#!t in then garbage after several attempts at tying on and either knot slipping or breaking......never had that issue with mono or braid.

Glad I passed on this earlier at Academy when I picked up a new spinning combo. I just went with Pline CX premium in 10lb.

I have been using Nanofil for awhile and have no problems. Haven't lost a fish since. I am using the knot suggested on Berkley's web site. I have restrung all my spinning reels with it.

Nano-fill = rich people stuff...lol.. its 20 bucks!!!!! tried it for a bait rod for crappie and perch. A bass hit it and...hook slip. I was not using the double Palomar knot.
