I just happened to catch the tail end of the FOX 4 news yesterday. Saw this ad.

PETA is running a billboard that shows a dog with a hook in its mouth. AD reads--If you wouldn't do this to a dog,Why do it to a fish?

Check this ad out on their website--www.fishinghurts.com/feat-dogfish.asp

Peta people need to get a life!!! I get so damn tired of this BS!!! They bitch about all this stuff, but they still eat meats, fish etc.

These people need to do some thing more important and more meaningful than to attack fisherman and hunters. This sh-- is rediculous!!

That is beyond stupid. Next they will say its cruel to use minnows or shad as bait. Poor little things getting a hook stuck thru them and lured down to the dark depths to be eaten by the another poor creature who was tricked into eating its prey fish

That has been out for a while. PETA is an example of an extremist group that originally, perhaps, was a good cause. Now they are so far out they are classified as kooks.

If God didn't want us to eat animals and fish, then why did he make them out of meat?

They had the same billboard in Galveston, it did not last long before enough people complained and it was taken down.

Idiots!

PETA, isn't that bread....That is the only good use I see for it....Not a very Godly thing,. It does say in the Bible that ALL that moves the face of the Earth shall be your food..Paraphrased of course...Now blame women for that, getting us kicked out of the Garden of Eden hammer

I just visited the website listed above and these
boneheads seem to be talking out of both sides of their mouths. One one hand they are talking about fish being some of the most intelligent and cognitive creatures in the world. On the other hand they mention that fish are basically some of the most disgusting creatures alive because their bodies riddled with a whole host of toxins like mercury. Like all "Liberal" causes there's always a variety of issues that are tied in with it. One is "Veganism". Vegans are vegitarians who happen to be animal rights activists at the same time. They do not even consume dairy. The other issue is basically "anti-religion". In the FAQ's section there is not only a stab at anglers and meat eaters but also Christian's. Goto the website and see the FAQ's section and scroll down to where is asks: (Get ready to laugh) Didn't Jesus eat fish? And their answer: Its an interesting question, but Biblical scholars agree that the appropriate question for Christians is, What should we be eating? The Bible clearly says that our bodies are temples and that we should take care of them. Yet its a fact that all fish flesh today is contaminated with heavy metals and other toxins. In fact, fish flesh is just about the most polluted thing that humans put into their bodies. On that basis alone, Christians should not be eating it. HA! rolfmao I love the last line. Its as if to say if you are jewish or muslim or budhist etc its ok to eat all the fish you want...but if you are a Christian LOOK OUT!Eating fish will kill you!!

I meant to post this a couple of weeks ago. Here's an interesting website that shows what PeTA as really about.(Click the link below) They kill animals. They, like all "political action groups" want as much money as possible to futher their agenda. Caring for hundreds of animals costs money, lots of money. They got tired of forking out tons of $$$$ for the care and feeding of dogs and cats etc. They wanted to keep their moolah to buy off politicians and hang their little billboards and (probably)to line their own pockets with. And lets not forget those high dollar fund raisers that attract the Hollyweird "Elite" like Alec Baldwin and Rikki Lake. The folks that founded PeTA love to rub elbows with those guys you know.

It's unfortunate that freedom of speech applies to everyone sometimes. I would love to never have to see PETA's advertisements, or even better yet have to explain to my son why the dog on the billboard has a hook in its mouth. They really are a bunch of nuts, that are not only misinformed, but are too stubborn and opinionated for any sane person to rationalize with. Outdoor Sportsmen (and women)have done more for the conservation of wildlife than they ever will.
The one thing that really bothers me is the fact that they are targeting our kids with their BS. I don't think they should be allowed to approach kids at schools and hand them their brochures without the consent of all the parents. Their pamphlets and brochures are very gruesome and not at all what I want my kid seeing.
